Mentone Beach! Yes, you heard me right. The town that used to be part of the natural wash of water from the mountains has arrived. Well, now you can wash this unbelievable, well priced food down with an ice cold beer or cocktails. This restaurant is exactly why I started 1411 Inland Empire. It's a big town creative restaurant right in the I.E. town of Mentone.
Owner John Pierce, General Manager Michelle Johns and Executive Chef Ike Green have really hit it out of the park. (Prior to Mentone Beach Bar & Grill, Chef Ike's experience includes working as the exclusive private chef for Lavar Burton, Neil Diamond, Calista Flockhart and Jack Nicholson) Don't be alarmed that there is a massage store next door or that the parking looks tight (because there is plenty of parking). You walk in and you think you are at an Islands restaurant or a restaurant on an island (hence the name Mentone Beach Bar and Grill). It is clean, pristine and the tables are beautiful...everything is just perfect.
I'll sum it up. The items on the menu are titled with familiar names - Maui Onion Rings, Chicken Tenders, Sandwiches, Burgers, Tacos, etc... However, they all have a wonderful mouthwatering spin to them created by Chef Ike. Every item we tasted was so different and wonderful. Here are a few must haves:
Jerk Chicken Skewers - THE MOST TENDER CHICKEN I'VE EVER HAD. There is a light and flavorful peanut sauce that you rub your skewer in that is "off the charts" delicious!
Maui Onion Rings - Hands down the best I've had. Light, flavorful and unbelievable dipping sauces.
Chicken Tenders - Buttermilk fried chicken strips that were not only tender but came with their own assortment of amazing sauces.
Soups - Made from fresh
ingredients and so yummy...
OH GOD, I JUST REALIZED WE NEVER EVEN HAD THE TACOS, BURGERS OR A SANDWICH...I'M GOING BACK SOON!
